Farm girl, adventure seeker, artist and up-and-coming veterinary surgeon. Ultra trail runner Naomi Brand, 28, has been taking the competitive running world by storm with her proactive attitude and fighting spirit. When not stuck with her nose in books, she spends as much time as she can in nature doing what she loves best – trail running!

Brand’s love for running started at a very young age, with her natural affinity to the sport seeing her take part in cross country and road running on school, provincial and national levels in the past. Over the last few years she’s been working her way up the competitive rankings – from being voted Maties Best Cross Country Athlete back in 2008, to sharing the podium with SA’s top trail running lady Landie Greyling in 2016 when she finished third in the UltraTrail Cape Town 100 km.

Currently, Brand is focusing all her training on ultra trail running; with race distances ranging between 50 and 200 km set firmly in her sights. “Trail running has not only become an important priority in my life, but a part of my lifestyle,” she explains.

A dedicated athlete, Brand has a reputation for working and training hard to achieve her goals. She loves nothing more than sharing her running experiences with friends she’s made through running, both here at home and globally. New to the world of corporate sponsorships, Brand is delighted with her association with NavWorld and the support the company provides, saying: “I’m honoured to be a NavWorld ambassador!”
