Theresa Ralph only started cycling when she was 34 years old and only 6 months before her first Cape Epic in 2010. A rather late starter, but the bug bit and she has gone from strength to strength through the past 7 years.

Her highlight was coming second in the Cape Epic in 2012 as well as representing South Africa at World Marathon Champs in France.

Theresa’s hometown is Johannesburg. Born and bred there. She has always been a sportswoman which started at the age of 9 in a swimming pool.

Theresa concentrates on mainly marathon races. She enjoys the longer distances as it seems she gets stronger as the race gets longer. At the moment, Theresa is the SA Vet Marathon Champ.

Theresa is looking at trying something different this season and will make her way to some cross country races. She is hoping to get some stripes in this discipline as well as some good technical training.

Theresa also gets involved in Single Speed racing and likes to have some fun at their events. Despite it being a fun event, she also holds that title. SASS Champ.

Theresa is currently being coached by Mike Posthumas from Science to Sport. With Woman’s competition becoming much more competitive and many ladies turning full time pro’s, it is necessary to get as much guidance from professionals to assist with keeping you focused and on the right track.
