DJI has announced two new drones that will be added to its line-up. The announcement was made at IFA 2017, a consumer electronics trade-show held in Berlin.
First up, DJI added a new model to the Mavic Pro range. Enticingly called the Mavic Pro Platinum, this model introduces a slightly longer battery life – DJI says up to 30min – and significant noise reduction thanks to some new electronics and a new blade design. The new electronic speed controllers (ESC’s) and 8331 noise reduction propellers will give Mavic Pro Platinum pilots a reason to brag with an overall noise reduction of 60% as compared to the Mavic Pro.
Of course, as the name implies, this new model also sports a beautiful platinum finish. All the other features are the same as the Mavic Pro. DJI also said that the new noise reduction propellers will be compatible with your current Mavic Pro. The new battery that ships with the Mavic Pro Platinum will also be compatible with existing models. That is fantastic news.
DJI Phantom fans – and I am one of those – will have a new colour option to chose from. The new Phantom 4 Pro Obsidian features a sleek matt grey Obsidian colour shell with a magnesium, electroplated and anti-fingerprint coated gimbal. All the other features are the same as that of the Phantom 4 Pro.
Local pricing and availability on these new DJI models has not yet been announced but keep an eye on this website for developing news. – (c) 2017 NavWorld
